Suzuki SV650 is one of the most iconic two-wheeled platforms in the world. All over the world, the Suzuki SV650 has cemented itself as a popular bike for off-road enthusiasts.

The 90-degree V-twin engine has always been the star of the show, but now they're testing what appears to be the next-gen V-Strom.

The name 'V' could also stand for 'V-Twin', as it represents the bikes' 90 degrees of engagement.

Gone is the round headlight and flowing bodywork, replaced with a much more modern look.

The new engine will have an uneven firing order to mimic the sound and feel of a 90-degree V-twin engine, something Yamaha has been able to achieve with its CP2 engine. Suzuki's new engine is rumoured to have a displacement between 700 and 800cc.

Suzuki's decision to go with parallel-twin engines for its middleweight division comes as no surprise. Parallel-twins have always been simpler mechanically, easier to maintain, and, most critically, less expensive to produce.

It's also no surprise that, with the exception of a few heritage-focused brands, practically all motorcycle manufacturers offer at least one parallel-Twin-engined model.
