Porsche 718e Cayman: The sports car project inspired by the Mission R [RENDER]

Porsche premiered at the 2021 Munich Motor Show a racing car prototype with the name of Porsche Mission R , equipped with an 800 kW (1088 hp) powertrain and with various highly innovative technical solutions.   According to the German carmaker, this model gives us a glimpse into the future of its racing cars in the coming years, but also the innovations that will come to its future road vehicles. Following the presentation, many speculated on the next generation of the Porsche 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster with the stylistic traits of the Mission R. In particular, the renderer imagined what the Porsche 718e Cayman would be like starting from the Mission R.  Overall, the digital project looks just like a series-approved version of the racing prototype for road use. In this case, the rear-mounted 408 HP electric motor and the 79 kWh battery of the basic version of the Taycan would be perfect.  It would be even better to implement the Performance Battery Plus package which would allow the 718e Cayman to develop up to 476 hp and offer a 93 kWh battery.
