YAMAHA XSR 700 2022 | Refreshed retro look and new colors

Yamaha is giving its mid-range Heritage model a facelift for the 2022 season. When it comes to technology, there is one or the other upgrade. The new XSR 700 will celebrate its premiere at EICMA.

For model year 2022, Yamaha is taking the XSR 700 platform to a new level with a few changes. The basic retro character is retained. New front and more brakes Let's start with the changes at the front. Here the XSR 700 is inspired by its 125 sister and now has a round LED headlight with a split projector and semicircular position light. Two new holders ensure a more compact package. Turn signals and the rear light operate with LED technology. The two-cylinder's LCD cockpit is further forward. This should provide a better overview. A double disc brake system on the front wheel, enlarged to 298 millimeters in diameter, provided more braking power. The telescopic fork has been retuned and the XSR rolls on the Michelin Road 5 from the factory. Brake and clutch levers are now all black and the switches have been upgraded and made more user-friendly. In addition, the cooler received new side covers. The XSR 700 XTribute, which is based on the legendary XT 500 with its color scheme, was also carried over into the 2022 model year. A tank cover made of brushed aluminum is combined with a graphic inspired by the XT, white fenders and the famous gold-colored rims. There are also black components such as frame protection, radiator covers and instrument brackets, as well as the frame and engine. The wider and higher handlebars with a central strut are new. In this case, Pirelli contributes the tires with the roughly profiled MT-60RS. A flat bench and black bellows on the fork underline the XT look. The new XSR 700 will be available from March 2022 in the colors Heritage White and Heritage Black. The XSR 700 XTribute is available in Tech Black. Prices have not yet been announced. CONCLUSION Yamaha is now also lifting the XSR 700 over the Euro 5 hurdle. There are also slight retouching of the optics and a larger brake system on the front wheel.
