VOXAN WATTMAN | With a new bike to 21 new records

The electric motorcycle brand Voxan is aiming for further world speed records and has completely reissued the Wattman. Now 21 records have fallen.

In July 2021, the French team from Voxan set 11 world speed records for electric motorcycles with racing driver Max Biaggi . The record hunger of the Venturi subsidiary was not yet satisfied. In the United States, another 21 records were broken between November 18 and 23, 2021 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Max Biaggi was again at the start as a pilot. The Wattman was completely rebuilt. More power for the battery and motor The French have pushed the new Wattman to a weight of less than 300 kilograms. The new battery system based on high-performance pouch cells, which was developed together with the French energy company Saft, is said to have a major share in this. When it comes to the electric drive, Voxan is again using the engine from the Formula E racers. The output could be increased from 270 to 320 kW. The maximum torque is 1,360 Nm. Long runs To increase directional stability, the wheelbase was stretched by almost 16 centimeters to 1,957 millimeters. The driver sits, or rather lies at a height of 68.6 centimeters (previously 61 cm). The fairing parts have been completely redrawn, whereby the Wattman can be driven with and without. Michelin has stepped up with the special tires in the dimensions 120 / 70-17 at the front and 190 / 55-17 at the rear. With MotoGP technology, they should be able to withstand high speeds and provide sufficient grip against the insane torque. Up to 470 km / h fast On Monday, November 22nd, the most coveted of all world records set in Florida was broken. With a speed of 455.737 km / h (283.182 mph) Max Biaggi set the prestigious world record in the class "partial streamlined electric motorcycles under 300 kg" with the Voxan Wattman. According to FIM regulations, the record value is the average of two journeys within an hour. The maximum speed measured during the record runs was even 470.257 km / h (292.204 mph). The day before, the Wattman competed without a disguise. Here the record in the class "non-streamlined e-motorcycle under 300 kg" was screwed to the new mark of 369.626 km / h (229.675 mph). CONCLUSION With a completely redesigned Wattman, Voxan has set a total of 21 new world speed records for electric motorcycles. They were driven in again by Max Biaggi.
