Tuning: the restomod of a Corvette C2 with Lamborghini engine is planned in the USA

One of the most iconic Corvettes, the C2, is about to be reborn with a completely different soul and look. The guys from American Legend Builds are in fact hard at work trying to combine the body of a Corvette C2 with the mighty 5.2 V10 of a Lamborghini Gallardo , thus creating a mouth-watering Restomod. A company specializing in the restoration and modification of historic muscle cars or icons of American motoring, ready to start the project in view of SEMA 2023 . New inside and out If the project seems impossible to you, know that a specific designer has also been chosen, Karan Adivi to give the Corvette C2 a more modern and up-to-date look. The designer himself has recently published the digital renderings of the car on his social pages, presenting an iconic but futuristic line at the same time, updating the stylistic features of one of the most representative cars in the USA. He is not new to this type of project, having already built a '68 Mustang with a Ferrari F430 engine in the past. We would not even know where to start telling you about it, if not from the rear, which encompasses all the classic lines of the Corvette combined with the double exhaust raised from the ground and the LED headlights integrated into the rear line. The ribs on the hood do not change, while the front is revised, more elaborate and aggressive with new LED headlights integrated horizontally in the protuberance of the bumper. The new 18 or 19-inch bronze-colored alloy wheels and widened track are truly unique. Italian heart, but in front The 5.2 V10 of the Lamborghini Gallardo is then installed frontally, contrary to what was done on the Italian sports car, with the traction that is inevitably sent back to the rear with a propshaft (probably in carbon). The engine is taken from a 2014 Gallardo LP560-4 , with its 560 hp and 540 Nm of maximum torque, enough to push the Italian from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds . It is not impossible to believe that the Corvette's revised chassis could weigh less, increasing its performance. The maximum power that this engine will be able to generate on this project is not yet known, nor is the price that will be proposed for the construction of the works.
