New Fiat Punto: a trump card in Europe?

It is not yet confirmed, the Stellantis industrial plan is awaited.

For many months now there has been talk of the possible arrival of a new Fiat Punto in the range of the Italian car manufacturer. Since the merger between Fiat Chrysler and PSA became official with the birth of Stellantis , the possible return of such a model on the market has sparked the fantasies of enthusiasts and entered the debates of professionals. New Fiat Punto could be an opportunity for Stellantis At the moment it is not yet sure that the new Fiat Punto will be made. To be sure, it is necessary to wait for the announcement of the Stellantis industrial plan which will reveal what will be the news for Fiat. However, what many agree on is that the launch of a car of this type could represent Fiat's trump card in Europe. We already know that the main Italian car manufacturer intends to return to the B segment of the market from where it has been missing since 2018 after the farewell of the old Punto. This return will take place with at least two models. If for the moment the arrival of a B-SUV has been confirmed in 2023 that will be produced in Tychy in Poland , there are greater uncertainties about the second model. Stellantis has technologies and resources to bring this car back to life Those in favor of the arrival of a new Fiat Punto underline that Stellantis could make this car without problems by taking advantage of the engines, technologies and platforms of its other B segment cars. It is enough to mention Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa to remember how the group of Carlos Tavares is already well present in that category. Others, however, for this very reason believe that in the end Fiat will prefer to return to that segment with other types of cars, precisely in order not to compete internally with the other compact sedans present in Stellantis . What is certain is that the new Fiat Punto would continue to have a lot of market in Europe and especially in Italy where many still regret his farewell.
