Mercedes EQB 2021: all the features of the 7-seater electric SUV

The Mercedes EQB is the seven-seater electric SUV of the Star brand, which recently arrived in Europe, with the ambition of becoming one of the best-selling models of the German house. It is the sister of the GLB and offers a range of up to 419 kilometers, but with new versions coming soon, also in Italy. Size and design The German car is 4.68 meters long, 1.83 meters wide, 1.66 meters high and has a wheelbase of 2.83 meters to ensure ample roominess and, as we said, up to seven seats. The boot starts from a capacity of 465 liters and can reach up to 1,170 liters in the five-seater version, while with seven passengers it 'stops' at 1,610 liters. On an aesthetic level, the Mercedes EQB offers very similar characteristics to the GLB , but with some distinctive elements : the front glossy black mask, the full LED headlights connected by a light strip and, in the rear, the number plate passes from the tailgate to the bumper. Thus making it recognizable from its endothermic sister. Interior and technology Like all the cars of the Star, even the 100% electric SUV is a concentrate of technology inside the passenger compartment, mixed with the usual premium materials of the German brand and circular air vents. There is also a distinctive internal pixel lighting, in addition to the multicolored soft lights. The dashboard of the EQB is dominated by the classic MBUX infotainment system , with dual widescreen displays for dashboard and entertainment. A lot of technology even while driving, with a complete package of active ADAS as standard, such as the Active Brake Assist Anti-skid system. Motor and battery The Mercedes EQB is available with two engines, both coupled to the 66.5 kWh battery, for a claimed range of 419 kilometers (WLTP). You can choose between the 300 4Matic with 228 hp and 390 Nm or the 350 4Matic with 292 hp and 520 Nm of maximum torque. With a quick-charge column, it is possible to recover about 80% of the autonomy in just over 30 minutes, but it is also possible to use a domestic socket or the Wallbox. Equipment and prices The electric SUV with up to 7 seats is available in four trim levels (Sport, Sport Plus, Premium and Premium Plus), with further additional packages on request. The price list for Italy starts at € 57,670 for the version with a 228 HP engine and the Sport entry set-up. But, as we said, other options will also come.
