Kia aims to become a leader in sustainable mobility

The South Korean brand wants to become carbon neutral by 2045.

In the past few hours, Kia has unveiled the strategy that will lead it to become a leader in sustainable, responsible and innovative mobility solutions, with the announcement of the ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2045.   During the Kia Sustainability Movement digital event , the South Korean carmaker provided new details of its future business strategy. Kia's ambition is to become a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider and reflects the group's approach to sustainability, understood as the ability to provide environmentally friendly mobility solutions for consumers globally.  The strategy is based on three pillars The first fundamental step of Kia's strategy is represented by the program to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, which rests on three important pillars: sustainable mobility, sustainable planet and sustainable energy.  These will be the foundations of Kia on which the commitment to reduce emissions in all operational aspects rests: from supply to logistics, from production to the use of vehicles up to waste disposal. By 2045, the South Korean company has set itself the goal of reducing the total emissions level by 97% compared to 2019.  Hosung Song , president and CEO of Kia, said: “ For us it is not a simple matter of setting goals and achieving them. We want to define a strategy that is also an inspiration for others and that convinces them to join in our intent to protect the planet for the benefit of humanity. In line with our ambition to become a provider of sustainable mobility solutions, we are committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2045 ”.
