Enjoy car sharing: it becomes electric and the batteries do not have to be recharged

Enjoy, Eni's well-known car sharing that has always been combined with the famous red Fiat 500s, will soon also receive new electric cars in the fleet. It therefore enters the world of electric cars with nice lime-colored cars, which enjoy an interesting peculiarity as regards the management of the battery and recharges.    Battery Swap, what is it?  Literally we mean the change of the battery, the replacement. This is a procedure that Eni's technicians will fine-tune in a few seconds, effectively replacing the battery cell that appears to be discharged. A solution already thought up years ago by Elon Musk but not yet put into practice, probably abandoned.     The company is confident about the effective increase in practicality due to the battery swap, a technique that will allow you to have more cars charged around the city, without risking to remain "on foot" as often happened to the electric car sharing cars up to now on the territory.   It will start from the beginning of 2022 in an Italian city. It will be a test phase, where also the efficiency of the battery swap infrastructure will be tested. Once the experimentation phase is over, the service will be expanded to include Italian cities that already benefit from the Enjoy sharing, therefore Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence and Bologna and, probably, also other smaller centers.   To date, there are approximately 1,500 vehicles in the enjoy fleet and it is expected that, at full capacity, the number of electric cars could equal this value, with operating costs close to 0.20 cents per minute.
