DUCATI STREETFIGHTER V2 | Sporty naked bike with 153 hp

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati is adding a V2 version based on the Panigale V2 below the brute Streetfighter V4.

If you are looking for a naked bike with sporty demands at Ducati , you will be served with the new Monster or the Streetfighter V4. With prices of 20,000 euros and up and an output of 208 hp, the V4 is not everyone's cup of tea. The little monster is much better at around 11,000 euros, but with 111 PS and its shape it is not necessarily what sports drivers are looking for. Accordingly, the Ducati fan base has long been dreaming of a small Streetfighter that follows in the footsteps of the Streetfighter 848.

V2 from the Panigale

Now these Ducati dreams are fulfilled with the new Streetfighter V2. The technology in the new little Streetfighter comes largely from the Panigale V2 , the design largely corresponds to the V4. For aerodynamic reasons, the double wings could be dispensed with, but those who want can retrofit them.

Ducati gives the weight of the naked Panigale V2 dry as 178 kilograms. The Euro 5-compliant two-cylinder is specified in the Streetfighter with 153 hp at 10,750 tours and 101.5 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The only change in the drive compared to the Panigale concerns the final ratio, which has been shortened to 15/45. Modifications were also made in the chassis area.

Modified chassis geometry

In order to keep the Streetfighter V2 absolutely directionally stable, the single-sided swing arm was lengthened by 16 millimeters. With a steering head angle and caster that has also been adjusted, the wheelbase rises to 1,465 millimeters. The driver sits on a newly designed seat roll at a height of 845 millimeters and grabs a wide, high aluminum handlebar. The feet rest on repositioned notches.

A newly designed aluminum rear frame takes into account the completely changed seating position. New basic settings for the 43er Showa BPF-USD fork and the Sachs rear shock are supposed to guarantee a little more driving comfort. However, their adjustment range also allows for a sporty set-up.

The 5-spoke wheels of the Streetfighter V2 are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Corsa IV tires in the dimensions 120/70 17 and 180 / 60-17 as original equipment. The braking system was taken over 1: 1 by Panigale. Likewise, the complete electronics arsenal around the six-axis IMU, but with parameters adapted to the Streetfighter.

Double wings as an accessory

A 4.3-inch TFT display in the cockpit informs the street fighter, telephones can be integrated via Bluetooth, and the lighting is based entirely on LED technology. The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 is only available in the Ducati Red color combination with black wheels. Of course, the Ducati Performance program is also equipped with numerous parts for the new Streetfighter V2. For example, an Akrapovic racing exhaust that saves seven kilograms, a single-seater kit or even larger wings for the side panels are available for an extra charge.

The Streetfighter V2 is available from 16,990 euros.

CONCLUSION

With the Streetfighter V2, Ducati closes the gap between the Monster and the Streetfighter V4 - both in terms of price and performance. The distinctive double wings are only available as accessories for the V2.
