The ' Car of the Year (or Car of the Year English) is the most prestigious award in Europe in the automotive sector. Although the Geneva Motor Show has been canceled again , 2022 will also see this important recognition awarded. The seven finalists of this edition have been announced, of which six are electric cars.

The zero-emission cars , therefore, dominate this list, with the only 'intruder' the Peugeot 308, which is also available in a version with the plug, thanks to the plug-in hybrid. It's hard to talk about a favorite, but she can't be an Italian model. The Maserati MC20 , the only one in the race among the 39 candidates, did not pass this selection and is not included among the seven finalists.

The winner in February 2022
In fact, the jury reduced the candidates to receive the award from 39 to 7. All these cars will be subjected to some specific tests by the jurors, who will give their verdict in the final part of February. The announcement of the winner is scheduled for Monday 28 February 2022 , strictly online. Hoping we can return to the version in the presence, starting from 2023.
