It is a model dedicated exclusively to the Chinese market. After seeing it in exclusive spy photos , Audi has decided to take advantage of the Guangzhou 2021 Motor Show to present to the public the new Audi Q5 e-tron which is proposed as the big brother of the Q4 e-tron. We are facing the latest member of the German carmaker's all-electric SUV range and is also aimed exclusively at the Chinese market. The new Q5 e-tron is based on the MEB platform and is not to be confused with the MQB-based Q5 or the upcoming DPI-based Q6 e-tron. Audi Q5 e-tron photo Design: As the name suggests, we are talking about a rather imposing SUV as it measures 4876 mm in length, 2965 mm in width compared to the 4588 and 2764 mm proposed by the Q4 e-tron. In essence, the new Audi Q5 e-tron is the premium version of the Volkswagen ID.6 also available in China. The front features a single-frame grille very similar to that seen on the Q4, but with larger dual headlights and several air intakes in the bumper. The side profile is characterized by dynamic lines, with the possibility of choosing an optional two-tone covering for the roof. The rear overhang is longer, with full-width, slim LED headlights and a bumper inspired by that of the Q7. Audi Q5 e-tron photo The cockpit: Moving on to the interior, the new Q5 e-tron takes inspiration from its younger brother with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch touch display for the infotainment system. The interior is obviously more spacious and can accommodate up to seven people in three rows of seats. A six-seater configuration with two single seats in the second row will also be available. Audi Q5 e-tron photo The versions: Sadly, Audi didn't reveal many details when unveiling at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2021 , but we already know it will be available with three different electric motors. In the various official images we can come the 40 version with 204 HP engine and rear wheel drive and the flagship Audi Q5 50 e-tron with 302 HP dual motor configuration and all-wheel drive. In addition, there is a 83.4 kWh battery whose autonomy is unfortunately unknown. According to what has been reported, the 35 version will also be available with a single 180 HP electric motor and most likely a less capacious battery. Finally, the new Audi Q5 e-tron will be produced in China through the Volkswagen-SAIC joint venture .
