CFMOTO 700CL-X Heritage: unbeatable equipment price ratio, 6,490 € fc, for a bike that also amazes for its dynamic performance.

This CFMOTO will not shake the wrists of the big European or Japanese brands, at least for now, but the conditions for hearing more and more often about this Chinese company are all there .

You can sense this even just looking at the new 700CL-X Heritage protagonist of the test, and thinking about the strength and thrust behind it. Almost one million motorcycles built in the last year, with related pandemic problems, close collaborations, indeed very close with European companies, KTM is an official partner, and a leading role in the world of ATVs.

About three years ago we met at a CFMOTO presentation and the thing that struck us was the attention to the design of all their bikes, and with this 700 CL-X Heritage , we continue on the same line. Designed in Italy, this scrambler does not hide ideas and details that recall models of the same segment of other brands, but manages to be the same staff and above all with valuable contents almost in contrast with a really interesting purchase price .

Already at first glance this scrambler strikes for the pleasantness of the design, with the "X" that recurs on various elements , starting from the daylight that surrounds the front LED headlight and which is found on the mudguard, on the instrument panel and on one of the crankcase. Materials and assemblies are really of quality, and better than even more famous competitors in terms of brand and price , and there are no connectors or cables in sight that disturb or give the idea of ... "pulled away" and the plastic does alternates with metal and aluminum.

Chassis and engine

Even looking at a stripped motorcycle, without tank and various bodywork pieces, you can appreciate the good work of the technicians and the order of the various components.

Thus stripped the trellis frame in chromium-molybdenum steel stands out, with cast aluminum swingarm . The spoked wheels, with the 18-inch front, are Pirelli MT-60 RS 110/80 and 180/55 tires.

Set in the trellis is the liquid-cooled 693cc in-line twin with counter-rotating shaft, which is an old acquaintance, being derived from the 650 twin-cylinder produced by Kawasaki, which grows in displacement through an increase from 60 to 64 mm of the bore. and brand new forged pistons .

Maximum power is 70.1 hp (51.5 kW) at 8,750 rpm, and 60.9 Nm at 6,500 rpm, managed by a modern Ride-by-Wire, for 189 kg of dry weight.

As for the engine and frame, even the suspension has not spared and the fully adjustable KYB / Kayaba 41 mm fork and the mono with preload adjustment and compression / rebound in a single register , prove it. The braking system is branded J-Juan (recently entered into orbit by Brembo), with four- and two-piston calipers and 320 and 260 mm discs respectively .

Instrumentation

The LCD instrumentation is fairly readable as well as having a pleasant design, it is also particularly equipped in terms of information displayed.

In addition to the classic speedometer and tachometer, there are partial odometer indicators, the indicator of the engaged ratio, the speed and average consumption, liquid temperature and fuel level, clock and battery voltage. Not bad.

The selected engine map, Eco / Sport, is also idicata, the first suitable for driving on surfaces with little grip, the second full power.
