CFMoto Expected To Launch Retro-Styled 700 CL-X Sport Soon

CFMoto, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, has worked hard to ensure that its product offerings are competitive in the highly competitive global market. While the company has yet to enter the US market with its two-wheelers, it has made a name for itself in parts of Europe, Australia, and Asia. Probably CFMoto's biggest hit is the 800MT, a performance-oriented adventure bike based on the KTM 790 Adventure. The CL-X brand is also associated with a range of retro style motorcycles. Last year, the CL-X Classic model was released to the global market as a scrambler-style street bike with dual-sport tires and upright ergonomics. The bike has done exceptionally well in the markets it is available in, and is one of the most sought-after models in CFMoto's stable. CFMoto is preparing to launch the Sport version soon after the launch of the Classic.

It features retro modern styling, accentuated by an aggressive bodywork, and a sportier riding position thanks to clip-on handlebars and rear set controls. Except for the revised styling, the 700 CL-X Sport shares the same architecture as the Classic. In addition to the previously mentioned ergonomics package, both front and back wheels have 17 inch cast aluminum construction. Likewise, the bike has road-oriented tires, as opposed to the dual purpose rubber of the Classic.

Rather than the J.Juan brakes that come as standard on the 700 CL-X Sport, the 700 CL-X Sport comes with Brembo brakes. Similarly to the Classic, this motorcycle comes with a 693cc engine. It's a rather rudimentary parallel-twin with a 180-degree crankshaft that makes 73 horsepower. There are also some creature comforts on the bike, including a USB charging port, adaptive headlights, and front and rear adjustable suspension.

Even with its size and power output, the CL-X Sport manages to keep its weight down thanks to features such as an aluminum alloy swingarm. The bike is by no means a featherweight, but it manages to tip the scales at 196 kg ready to ride. CFMoto 700 CL-X Sport will make its Australian debut in the fourth quarter of this year. It is expected to go on sale at a very enticing price tag of just $9490 AUD, which is equivalent to $6,939 USD—incredible pricing for a bike of this caliber.
