There is nothing quite as exciting as a close finish in racing. The racing hall of fame contains a number of last corner overtaking maneuvers that have been described as daring, dangerous, and spectacular. Among the more epic battles for pole position was one that occurred at the recently concluded Czech round of the Superbike World Championship.

In the inaugural race of the World Superbike Championship held at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, Scott Redding and Toprak Razgatlioglu, two of the game's top competitors, faced off in the closing laps. A truly spectacular overtaking maneuver enabled Razgatlioglu to snag the win at the very last corner from Scott Redding. A mere 0.04 seconds separated the Turkish rider from Redding's Ducati after the move was stuck.

For a rider as determined as Razgatlioglu, who has had his fair share of mishaps, such an act took quite a bit of courage. During the WSBK Assen round, he accidentally went down with another Yamaha rider, Garrett Gerloff, a fellow american. Razgatlioglu gained some much-needed points for keeping him in contention for the world championship with his win at Most. Jonathan Rea's crash during the race worked to Razgatlioglu's advantage as well.

Razgatlioglu, who was ecstatic with the results, stated: "I am extremely happy because it wasn't an easy race. Every lap I'm pushing, trying not to make mistakes. I won. I try every corner, but I'm really happy because I need this position to win." Scott Redding was visibly irate after the race, and he exchanged a few sharp words with the Turkish competitor. Following the race, the British rider stated: “You cannot overtake (like that); I know he was farther back, he wasn't next to me. To move my knee when I was near the floor... Let's show a little respect.”
