Kawasaki To Launch 2022 Z900RS In New Two-Tone Colorways

Kawasaki appears to be following the rule of "don't fix what ain't broke" with its model range for 2022. Let me be clear, this is in no way a bad thing, as Kawasaki's current lineup of motorcycles is pretty good already. Almost all of its models are well worth the price and have been strong performers for many years now. One bike, though, stands out as being particularly special: the Z900RS.

My opinion has always been that the Z900RS is a bike that sits one level above all the neo-retro, café racer-inspired bikes of the modern era. Hondas present-day CB model range is a good example of this trend, although Yamaha's XSR range and Honda's Neo Sports Cafe bikes are essentially modern machines just dressed up to look old. Meanwhile, the Z900RS's looks and feel are more bespoke, beginning with its frame, seamless bodywork, and analogue instrument cluster. There's just something about it that seems deliberate.

As far as I'm concerned, the Z900RS has timeless styling in a package that delivers modern-day performance. That being said, the fact that no other updates are being made, other than new colorways, isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, the new colorways look quite impressive.

Kawasaki will introduce two two-tone color schemes, along with one solid color scheme for the Z900RS in 2022. The Blue/Gold colorway has already been revealed, and that's the first of the two-tones. Next is a Green/White two-tone finish that is equally subtle and sleek. Furthermore, those who prefer a solid finish can select the all black color option, which features a subtle blue streak on the side of the fuel tank.

Besides its newly updated color options, the Z900RS retains all of its technical specifications, such as the 948cc inline four-cylinder engine that produces 111 horsepower. With a weight of 215 kg, the Z900RS also features KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and dual-channel ABS as standard equipment.
