New Benelli Leoncino 800 Expected To Unveil Soon

Benelli Leoncino 800

Nearly a year ago, Benelli encouraged us to be on the lookout for the Leoncino 800. It is hard to imagine such a machine on the road today. Benelli Leoncino 800 fans in other markets have been left with the smaller Leoncino 500 as a substitute for the Lion of Pesaro, apart from, perhaps, the folks over in Italy.

In spite of the Leoncino 800 not yet being available in the global market, Benelli has gone ahead and tweaked it. Is it possible that Leoncino 800 is finally going on sale. A number of motoring publications have reported this. Is the upcoming Leoncino 800 something we can truly look forward to? Here's a closer look.

It is anticipated that the Leoncino 800's parallel-twin motor will be larger, now 799cc compared to 754 cubes on the original model. In addition to making the bike more Euro 5-compliant thanks to the bigger displacement and improved tuning of the motor, it also affords it a little bit more power, making it more suitable for Europe and India right now. A healthy 87 horsepower is expected to pump through this Lion Cub.

The Leoncino 800's chassis has been stiffened and made lighter by QJ Motor, Benelli's Chinese owner. Despite the increase in displacement, this reduces the weight of the machine by an incredible 11 kilograms.

All these specs seem really exciting. As of right now, we do not know how long it will take  Benelli to make the Leoncino 800 available worldwide. As Benelli's new entry into the North American market late last year, the Leoncino 800 makes sense. Chinese-owned Leoncino 800 is likely to make its official debut at EICMA 2021, slated for November this year in Milan, Italy.
