GSX-S1000 is the base model, which keeps the displacement at 999cc, but reduces the power output from 152 horsepower to 95 horsepower at 7800 rpm. The use of the A2 license kit will allow this to be reduced to 35kW (48 ps). A2 license holders can become A license holders after two years, so they can return to the 95ps specification  after that.


The European Union has separate licenses for different power outputs, and the insurance premiums depend on horsepower.
